ANN ARBOR, MI – The Michigan Wolverines women’s basketball team put on a dazzling display of skill and teamwork yesterday as they faced off against the Detroit Mercy Titans, clinching a spectacular 100-54 victory. This triumph marks the Wolverines’ ninth consecutive win and cements their position as a formidable force in collegiate basketball.
The game unfolded at the Crisler Center at 3:00 PM ET, and Michigan wasted no time getting into the groove. They kicked off the first quarter with an impressive 15-3 scoring run, leaving the Titans scrambling to catch up. By the end of the first quarter, Michigan was comfortably leading with a score of 27-9, and it was clear that the Wolverines were in full control.
The Wolverines wowed their fans by scoring a whopping 59 points in the first half alone, achieving the fifth-highest total in program history for a single half. With a commanding lead, Michigan continued to pull ahead, with their scoring advantage peaking at an astonishing 50 points during the match.
Freshman star Olivia Olson shined brightest among the Wolverines, leading the team with 22 points in just 20 minutes of play. Not to be outdone, three other players joined her in double digits: Te’Yala Delfosse with 13 points, and both Brooke Quarles Daniels and Macy Brown each with 11 points. The Wolverines managed to force the Titans into making 23 turnovers, converting these opportunities into a remarkable 37 points. With these defensive efforts, Detroit Mercy was restricted to a mere 31.4% shooting from the field, while Michigan shot an impressive 54.7%.

Their next challenge comes on December 17, 2024, when they will head to Charlotte, N.C. to take on No. 10 Oklahoma as part of the Jumpman Invitational.
